With a special photoshoot, Olivia Colman is supporting BBC One‘s 2021 Red Nose Day campaign ‘Funny is Power‘. Photographed by Matt Holyoak, Olivia modeled a variety of Pixar themed T-Shirts which are part of the items that are being sold to raise money for the RND21 fundraiser. She was joined by fellow actors James McAvoy and Sabrina Elba, all of them part of a big, star studded ensemble raising money that’ll go towards tackling issues such as homelessness and which will support people facing abuse and mental health issues. Funds will also be donated to help people struggling because of the coronavirus pandemic. On sale is another exclusive design by poet Charlie Mackesy, which Olivia wore as well. Other fundraising items include the typical red noses (for the first time plastic free), pin badges, games and drinks bottles.
Red Nose Day 2021 takes place on Friday 19 March, with fundraising activities happening around the big day. This year’s campaign was launched by Actress Dame Judi Dench, Marvel’s Benedict Cumberbatch and Comic Relief co-founder, Sir Lenny Henry and it will peak in its annual TV fundraiser. The BBC will broadcast the 2021 Red Nose Day’s main event and it will be hosted by the likes of Alesha Dixon, David Tennant, Davina McCall, Paddy McGuinness and Sir Lenny Henry. They are being joined by other famous faces, including Karim Zeroual, Joe Sugg, Saffron Barker, DJ Roman Kemp, Sewing Bee’s Joe Lycett and Masked Singer judge, Mo Gilligan.
All shirts can be bought here, with at least 7£ going to Comic Relief to help vulnerable children and young people.
